Tenonitrozole Mode of Action:
Tenonitrozole is a Selective for anaerobic bacteria due to their ability to intracellularly reduce imidazole which covalently binds to DNA, disrupts its helical structure, inhibiting bacterial nucleic acid synthesis.
TENONITROZOLE INDICATIONS:
Tenonitrozole is a Nitroimidazole given in the treatment of trichomoniasis. It is given orally in a dose of 250 mg twice daily with meals, for 4 days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Tenonitrozole is contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding
Tenonitrozole is contraindicated in hepatic insufficiency.
This medication is generally not recommended in combination with alcohol.
PRECAUTIONS:
Alcohol should be avoided while taking Tenonitrozole, because of Disulfiram-like effects
ADVERSE EFFECTS:
mild digestive disorders: nausea, feelings of gastric heaviness, loss of appetite.
Yellow coloring of contact lenses.
